about us

Our History

The Divine Word Prayer Ministry was founded by Pastor Adekunle Adebayo in 2001. With dedicated members, we began by holding regular weekly prayer meetings, rooted in the guiding scripture of Luke 12:32-34.

Early Years
In its early years, the ministry grew through word of mouth and the unwavering commitment of its members. The prayer line was established, held twice a week in both Yoruba and English, along with counselling sessions on Tuesdays to provide additional support.

Expansion and Growth
For two decades, God has used Pastor Adekunle mightily for the Kingdom, resulting in a multitude of miracles, testimonies, and blessings. From barrenness to fruitfulness, various deliverances, child dedications, housewarmings, and even the granting of visas, green cards, and citizenships, the ministry has witnessed God’s power.

Milestones and Celebrations
In 2019, the ministry celebrated seven weddings across America, London, Paris, and Nigeria. These joyous occasions highlighted God’s blessings and were a testament to His favors. Psalm 118:15 and Ephesians 5:20 resonate with our gratitude and joy.

Landmark Occurrences
We have also seen significant events such as baptisms, successful evangelism, discipleship, and outreach programs. These unique works of the Lord have strengthened our community and showcased our dedication to God’s work.

Fellowship and Joy

Fellowship with one another is a core principle in our ministry. We want our brethren to experience true joy, which we believe is a by-product of a relationship with God, as expressed in Nehemiah 8:10.

Global Reach

Originally started in America in 2001, our ministry has now expanded to London, Canada, Nigeria, Australia, and Ireland, among other places. As we head into 2022, we continue to march forward, spreading the Lord’s teachings and love.

God’s Continued Blessings

For this milestone, the Lord has blessed us with sound doctrine, wisdom, power, and love. He continues to add new members to our ministry from near and far daily. God has strategically used this ministry for the spread of His Kingdom worldwide. We are a ministry of prayer and healing, above all, a ministry of God, governed by the Holy Spirit. God has kept, strengthened, healed, delivered, freed, rewarded, and blessed us mightily.

Looking Ahead

We have come this far by faith in God and have never seen the righteous forsaken nor His seed begging bread, as stated in Psalm 37:25. Better days, pleasant days, and glorious days are ahead of us! As Jesus said in Matthew 16:18, “Upon this rock, I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

Our Vision and Mission

Our vision is centered around the power of prayer. We believe that prayer should be our first response to every situation in life because it is the master key. Prayer is the cornerstone of our ministry, and it inspired the creation of our prayer line, held twice a week in both Yoruba and English. We also offer counseling on Tuesdays to provide additional support to our members. We thank God for all the answered prayers and His continuous guidance.
